My only problem -not just in physics- was that I always depended on my short-term memory.
I used all the known techniques for short-term memorization...which isn't useful if you wanna use the info you got later on in life.
So now I decided that I have to study physics...One more time 8-)
Given the fact that I'm about to graduate from college...It shouldn't take much effort to study a 3rd secondary course :D
I opened my physics book & here comes Unit 1 (been long time to see a "Unit" in a TOC :D)
Waves
Googling it didn't take much time, along with some you tube videos I remembered it all.
So here we begin, What's a Wave?
A wave is a disturbance that spreads & carries energy along.

There are mainly three types of waves:
Mechanical waves: require a material medium to travel (air, water, ropes). These waves are divided into three different types.
- Transverse waves: cause the medium to move perpendicular to the direction of the wave.
- Longitudinal waves: cause the medium to move parallel to the direction of the wave.
- Surface waves: are both transverse waves and longitudinal waves mixed in one medium.
Electromagnetic waves: do not require a medium to travel (light, radio).
Matter waves: are produced by electrons and particles.
A very common phenomenon that happens in our daily life is the Doppler effect.
