Physics...[1]

Al Salam 3alikom w ra7mat Allah w'barakatoh
Back then @ 3rd secondary -as if it was yesterday- I studied physics. I loved it a lot.
My only problem -not just in physics- was that I always depended on my short-term memory.
I used all the known techniques for short-term memorization...which isn't useful if you wanna use the info you got later on in life.
So now I decided that I have to study physics...One more time 8-)

Given the fact that I'm about to graduate from college...It shouldn't take much effort to study a 3rd secondary course :D

I opened my physics book & here comes Unit 1 (been long time to see a "Unit" in a TOC :D)

Waves

Googling it didn't take much time, along with some you tube videos I remembered it all.

So here we begin, What's a Wave?
A wave is a disturbance that spreads & carries energy along.
First watch this video about Mechanical Waves

There are mainly three types of waves:

Mechanical waves: require a material medium to travel (air, water, ropes). These waves are divided into three different types.
  1. Transverse waves: cause the medium to move perpendicular to the direction of the wave.
  2. Longitudinal waves: cause the medium to move parallel to the direction of the wave.
  3. Surface waves: are both transverse waves and longitudinal waves mixed in one medium.
Electromagnetic waves: do not require a medium to travel (light, radio).
Matter waves: are produced by electrons and particles.

A very common phenomenon that happens in our daily life is the Doppler effect.
What is that??

Now watch how the Sonic Boom is actually created.

Until next time, tickle your brain with this
if you can explain it add ur comment :D

  1. this is called Meissner effect.
related to the cold temp physics

i'm not yet sure if it is hydrogen.
but this is the next topic insha'Allah
    so stay tuned :D
